Who We Are
Trail Creek Dog Training Club was formed in response to a number of people expressing an interest in training and working with purebred dogs on a regular basis in this area. The first organizational meeting was held in the early 1970's. Since then we have held regularly scheduled classes in Puppy Kindergarten, Basic Obedience, Advanced Obedience and Agility. Club members believe that it is not only personality that makes a dog man's best friend, but his manners as well, and that a well-trained dog is an asset to the family and community. The club's objectives are to help the community by offering classes and any other information that people might need concerning their dog.
Community involvement is what our club is about. We have several members who are involved with the 4-H dog projects in LaPorte County. Others are part of the Therapy Dog program. We have also held demonstrations in the local malls and in the past have had information booths at the LaPorte County fair. We also give demos at schools in the area to help children learn more about care and training of their pets. All this is done in an effort to make people aware that dogs are more than just animals you tie up outside. Our members come from all walks of life but share on important goal, to do all in their power to protect and advance the interest in dogs and to continually keep the public aware and informed on the proper treatment and care of our canine friends.
