DESCRIPTION Generally for puppies between the ages of 8 to 24 weeks. Introduction to basic obedience vocabulary and skills, including SIT, COME, DOWN, STAY, and controlled walking on leash. Class is very informal with positive motivation and socialization a main concern. Dogs must be a minimum of 6 months old to begin this class. We emphasize getting and keeping the dog's attention so it can be trained effectively. In this class the commands, COME, SIT, DOWN, STAND and STAY, and HEEL are all introduced on lead. This class will build on the skills learned in the Beginning Obedience class. In this class, off-lead work will be introduced: SIT, DOWN, STAY, RECALL, STAND FOR EXAM, and preliminary off-lead HEELING. Rally is a unique combination of obedience exercises performed on a course that both dogs and handlers love. It is a fun and exciting new way to reinforce obedience and build a relationship with your dog. Great fun for both dog and handler! Dogs run, jump, go through tunnels and travel over the dog-walk and teeter totter. This class is a specialized advanced agility class which focuses on teaching the dog to perform agility obstacles while working away from their handler. Join this class and work on your specific agility issues and problems and receive suggestions for problem solving and improvement. This class is for preparation and presentation of your dog in the show ring. Learn the techniques of showing your dog in conformation. Flyball is a relay race between 2 four-dog teams. Each dog on the team must jump 4 hurdles to a spring-loaded box and with paws, release and catch the ball that flies out. Then the dog must return over the hurdles to the start line with the ball. Flyball is open to all dogs. Comprehensive training for CGC(Canine Good Citizen) and TDI(Therapy Dog International). This class is open to all breeds, mixed or purebred. Dogs must be at least 1 year old for TDI testing. Testing encompasses walking politely, sitting, downs, staying, coming greeting a friendly stranger, sound and site distractions, food distractions, 3 minute supervised separation, etc. Exact testing requirements can be found at: www.tdi-dog.com
